Bradshaw Family

The Bradshaw family of the late 1800′s originated in the Waverly area. Josie and Arthur Bradshaw had a son, John who was born in 1913 in Waverly. Shortly there after Arthur purchased a 10 acre farm off of Rt 460 between Suffolk and Windsor. It was here that Hazel and Ruth were born and all three children grew up on that farm. From 1940-1961 they lived in Chuckatuck next to the Gilliam home and raised two boys, Drexel and Dwight. Drexel graduated from Chuckatuck in 1955, Virginia Tech in 1960 and entered the Navy for the next 29 years, retiring in 1991 as a Captain. Dwight graduated from Chuckatuck in 1962, Virginia Tech in 1966, and Medical College of Virginia school of Dentistry in 1976. He has his dental practice in the Suffolk area and remains active today.
